Bogie Press (Bogie Test Machine) 
    Mechan have been building Bogie Presses since 1996, the first, a simple static, single ram type being installed in that year at Golders Green LUL Depot. Since then the company has built and installed mobile and static types for a variety of customers. One of the presses in working at MTRC in Hong Kong, whilst the most advanced is installed at Stratford Market LUL Depot. The bogie press is an important tool as it allows bogies to have the suspension and the ride height set up correctly and accurately, in an easy access environment, before they are fitted to the rail vehicle. The settings can be automatically recorded and stored if needed. Options available are: * Single cylinder load application with spreader beam or twin cylinder direct load application types. * Applied load measurement using hydraulic transducers or electronic load cells. * Wheel load measurement to ensure correct load distribution by the bogie suspension. * PC data logging and database storage of the calibration results to ensure traceability. * Flush floor build at running rail level. * Elevated design (requires no civil works) with roll in / out sections to allow bogies to be easily loaded into the press. * Travelling press for use on elevated roads with swing in reaction arms that transfer the applied loads through the track and back into the press structure.
